This recipe was included in a newsletter that I get from a local pet store. I haven't tried it -- so if there are some experimental types out there who try this before me, let me know how it turns out ;)
It doesn't seem to specify how much wheat germ ...
Satin Balls
10lbs hamburger
1 large box of Total
1 large box oatmeal
1 jar wheat germ
1 1/4 cup vegetable oil
10 raw eggs (with or without shells)
10 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
Pinch of Salt
Mix all ingredients together, like a meatloaf. Divide into balls - about the size of a small baseball. Either freeze these then thaw and serve occasionally as a meal or place them close together in a baking pan and bake at 375-400 F until done. Remove from pan when cool. Freeze and thaw to serve.
This is a bulk recipe since the Satin Balls keep well in your freezer. The recipe can also be easily reduced to make fewer Satin Balls.
Satin Balls are a delicious treat and a healthy supplement to your dogs diet but they can add weight if given frequently.
