Spaying

Hi All,

Luna is going in for spaying next Friday. I am very worried!
Any advice for after-care?

Also, she's been trying to itch her bum on the rug, and I'm pretty
sure it's not worms - someone suggested impacted anal glands?
Anywho, she's going for a check-up before the operation,
so hopefullly they'll catch anything there...

Best of luck to Luna. Usually after a day or so dogs feel fine after spaying. The anal gland issue can be a recurring thing. We had this problem for a while & it just seemd to stop being a problem all of a sudden.

Luna should be just fine. Abby and Ferris were both spayed and neutered without any problems but I was both worried and stressed until I got the call from my vet that all was well. This is normal for us pet owners. Sounds like Luna needs her anal glands expressed. No big deal. She can have this done anytime...either before, during or after surgery. Let us know how she does.
