It's been ages since I've had a puppy in my home, so having a new pup that is also a frenchie has been an absolute delight. I don't recall my chihuahuas having hiccups as often as this little guy, though.

Is this something common in pups or the breed? They don't last very long but they do tend to come right out of the blue - he seems to get them at least once a day.

Just curious if my little man is just a hiccup-y kinda guy or if others have experienced this as well?

Sidney used to hiccup a lot, too. He doesn't hiccup much anymore at all. I can't even remember the last time...

Yep, all baby puppies get hiccups :) Actually, most baby mammals do (remember you used to get them as a small child? but you probably don't often now) and they gradually outgrow them as they mature.

I agree....Ferris was the King of Hiccups for the first few weeks we had him. :o He outgrew it and gets them only on rare occasions. I don't remember Abby ever having them as a pup. ??

 Gwyneth you made me laugh so hard it cleared up my current hiccups. I have a sensitive diaphram and get hiccups all the time. I guess haven't matured that much.

Belzie get hiccups quite often, but they don't seem to last very long. We usually rub her tummy or get her to drink some water - it usually does the trick.
Actually they don't seem to bother her that much - not as much as me anyway.:)

Thank you everyone - it's comforting to know that this isn't something wildly unusual :) It doesn't seem to bother little Joey but I thought I'd ask just to be sure. I'm one of those over protective mommies. *grins*

ROFL! There's always the exception... Glad I could help clear your hiccups though ;)

Piper had hiccups often for the first 4 months of his life.
I don't remember him getting them in month 5 and 6. We're on month 7 right now and I totally forgot he had them until I read this thread.

In my experience, they grown out of them.
