Little Bo is having severe tear staining. The creases in his eyes are very rust colored even though I wipe them every other day with tear stain remover pads. Any ideas?

Hi April - I was having that same problem with Bug! I found these great Q-Tips with this tear stain removal solution in them. They are called Veterinarian's Best pet swabs. You break off the end of one side of the Q-Tip and the liquid flows into the other end. Use them once or twice a day for about a week. What I did was give Bug a really good bath and washed his face really good. Then I applied the pet swab liquid and did that EVERY day for a week. You leave it on. DO NOT WIPE IT OFF. It prevents new tear stains and fades existing stains. It really worked for Bug! Now I just use them ocasionally. I do wash his face daily with a warm wet wash cloth though! But these made a BIG difference. I hope you don't have a hard time finding them.

yup, biggie gets em too here is a list of things i have either tried or where recommended to me..to date I use peroxide 2x's a week we put biggie on human grade kibble and baby wipes in between but will be searching for those Qtip things that Sandi mentioned..cause he still gets them!!!
A Better diet/better food (this has helped several folks i know)
Hydrogen peroxide (be very careful not to get in eyes)i use a cotton pad
corn starch (apparently keeps the folds dry)
Baby wipes
Distilled white vinegar mixed with water
tsp. apple Cider Vinegar in the food (i have not tried this but have heard good things) natural apple cider vinegar is recommended....you can probably get at a healthfood store...
Remove any foods from diet that include beet pulp or beet juice
some have said that Diamond Eye (bought in pet stores) has worked for them but i kow many who it has not worked for as well...have not tried this...
If you find anything that works like a miracle let us know!!!!
