Anyone have their dog on this for skin allergies?
I just started, and looking for some feedback on the
side effects, specifically the vomitting.

Just wondering if u have more info re: your pups age, and cause of the allergies. I'm no expert, but a quick google showed from the makers that this drug has not been established for safety nor effectiveness for dogs under 6 months or less than 4 lbs body weight.

We had Molly on Atopica for about 4 weeks before we took her off of it because of the vomiting.

Thank you for the response. Hurley is just over a year old and has thrown up 3 out of the fours days he has been on it. What alternative do you use for your dog? We were hoping this would work, but from what I understand the next step is a dermatologist to identify and treat the allergy.
Thanks for any and all thoughts.

Well, the only thing that really keeps her comfortable is prednisone - which is not ideal for longterm use. I am actually in the process of weaning her off of it now. She has been to two dermatologists and both think that she suffers from both inhalant and food allergies. I had the blood tests done, but the next step is the intradermal test. This is the definitive in allergy testing. The only thing that scares me is that she will have to be put to sleep for the test and I hate anesthesia! But, we need to find out exactly what she is allergic to.
