I am currently applying to become a volunteer for FBRN. I have everything all ready to send in, just need to get to the Post Office. I talked to Sally (volunteer coordinator) on the phone, she is very nice. Hope I meet the requirements! Wish me luck.:) She even said I was a week late, 2 were just taken in, in Nebraska...:(

The new site looks great! And I bought a calendar! I've been looking and looking for one. No luck anywhere else. But what better place could my money go to, anyway?

Lollerskates, have you gotten your calendar yet? I have to tell you a funny story about them. I usually get a frenchie calendar every year for Christmas but they are usually "perfect" model dogs - if you know what I mean. Anyway, last year - 2005 - my mom was so excited that she found the rescue calendar on the FBRN site because like you said they are a bit tough to find. On Christmas when I opened it and we started looking through it we were both almost in tears looking at the photos and reading the stories! She didn't realize what rescue really meant! So this year for Christmas what does she get me but ANOTHER FBRN calendar! She forgot that <she> was so upset last year by it and she said to herself that she wasn't going to buy it again. Well, I'm really glad she did. appicon She was upset by the pictures and stories - of course the first one I flip open to is in a doggy wheelchair! - but they all have happy endings! And the money goes to a good cause and I'm happy to say that I've convinced her to get me that calendar EVERY year! :D

there area ctually 2 other rescue groups within the united states that also do wonderful services for frenchies being givenup, or found in shelters
one is the American French Bulldog Club of america Rescue lLeauge which is the original french bulldog rescue
http://www.fbdcarl.org/

the the other is the French Bulldog connection Rescue
http://frenchbulldogconnection.org/

the reason I mention these also is that All three groups are working to accomplish the same thing, To help frenchies get permanent homes. some states have members in only one groups.while other state have menbers in another group.
French bulldog Rescue network at this time does have the largest amount of french bulldogs in need Approx 40 to 50. But these frenshies need homes also
so don't forget you can all help the rescues and fosteres by visiting the sites and buying their products All three are non profit so they not only depend on the public for help. But on all the frenchie lovers who can buy great tiems and help each rescue group alsol

Whitney's mom-thanks for posting that. I'm going to write Frenchie connection to let them know of a "needs good home" ad I saw for Frenchie/Boston mix in my area. I don't like the new "designer" dog trend, but I feel that when in trouble these mixed-breed dogs need help too.

Hmm, I am also against 'designer' breeds. I have been seeing a lot of Frenchie X Pugs around here. I don't know whether they are the result of deliberate breeding, or whether they are mistakes. I do agree though about them needing help and loving homes - it is hardly their fault.

A few month ago a few of us in my dog club started a rescue group here in florida. We had a 10 month white female that needed a new home. She is a real lover! And cute as a button. When she arrived at my home, I was amazed by her size. I had read quite a few post on how small some of our frenchies are. Well, OMG:eek: She is so small she weighs no more than 11 pounds. And Rella and Taz look like mutants next to her! She has some health issues. She was borned with a cleft ( which was surgicaly fixed) Herrinated imbilical (which has also fixed) And Hemivertabrate problem as well. She has to drink from a hanging water bottle as well. I am not going to mention the breeder but it sadens me to see breeders continue to try to change the standard & breed for smaller more petit frenchies. I just felt the need to express my heart felt opinion. I placed her in a great new home and know she will forever be a part of this family. If I can get my guys to stand still I will post a picture so if you are interested in seeing the size difference you can.
