Well today I was out walking my 11yr old dalmatian and Eve the frenchie and we were about a block away on a corner house when I spied the dog peeking over the top of the wood fence. It was some kind of mutt. We started to take the long way around when all of a sudden I see the dog leap over the fence and charge us. He headed straight for my dal. Luckily my dal saw him come and defended himself. Meanwhile I was kicking this dog in the ribs to try to get him away from us.(I know I didn't hurt him) He then tried to go after little Eve but my dal fiercely protected his little sister. I finally got hold of the strange dogs scruff and luckily a nice passerby in a van stopped and he grabbed the dog for me. Meanwhile the owner who had been in his garage comes running up asking what happended and yelling at his dog and asking if my dogs were ok. Well I checked them and they were ok THANK GOD! I told him that his dog leapt the fence and charged us and that he better do something so it NEVER happens again! And that if my dogs showed any bruises or cuts that he will pay for them. THANK GOD they both appear fine and I gave Chance the dal a nice big scooby treat for protecting his little sister.

Stories like yours are so frightening. Thank goodness you had your Dal girl with you and everyone is ok. I used to walk our dogs in our neighborhood but there are too many loose ones. Someone nearby lets their Rottie out and after seeing a loose Pitt...I decided why take the chance. It's really a shame.

Thankfully Fran, my male dal Chance recovered fully from his stroke and he only had problems walking with his back legs. Well after my giving him physical therapy 3 times daily he recovered VERY fast(even the specialized vets were surprised) Chance was so determined and I was a very proud momma.;) I don't blame the dog for escaping , I blame the idiotic owner!(believe me when I say this guy gives dog owners a bad name)

I'm so glad that both your dogs are OK. Only one word for that dog owner - irresponsible.
