Hi, I just adopted a French Bulldog, and we are thinking of names. Any ideas? I like French names, of course, but because of his coloring, I am thinking of Arthur Guinness.

That's the very same Arthur. He is Brindle, and reminds me of a just poured Guinness: blackish with the falling lighter brownish color.

Naming is difficult sometimes. We just got our 4 year old from a rescue and his nmae was Batman...he didn't respond to that so no problem changing it since it didn't fit him. I was going to name him Milo Gibran after a character in a book and an author, but Ali fit him more. Watch him for awhile and a name may come from his personality.

I like the name

What about Napoleon Bonaparte for a French name, a powerful personality in a small body :D

Is it a puppy or a grown up Frenchie?

I have tried both Napoleon and Bonaparte, and he does not seem to like either one. I like both names, though.
He is a grown Frenchie, or mostly Frenchie. I should post his picture and get everyone's opinion on how much.

We went for the obvious french name for our little prince, Louis.

However, we toyed with Gilbert, Pepe, Didier. What about Sacha, after legendary crooner Sacha Distel???? Or Xavier, Alphonse, Bertrand or my personal favourite - Claude???

I am just thinking of all the French names I can now, in the hope that you like something - Emile, Etienne, Gilles, Leon, Marcel, Maurice, Pascal, Remy (I have, at this point, employed a website to help me!!;) ) Serge, Yves.

I thought it most pertinent to stick with a French name but, at the end of the day, I think it was just because the name I had chosen in my head was French (if you get what I mean).

Anyway, I hope you like the names!!
