Our 10 week old Lola is mostly black with a white tummy, paws, and stripe on her nose. She also has some lighter fur. It looks almost red in the sunlight and is in little tire mark-type patterns. She probably has 10 little patches like this. We're curious if her colouring will stay this way, or if she'll grow to be more multicoloured (sorry, don't know the correct terminology, but I'm sure you know what we mean!). Her mother is pied and her father multicoloured (again, not sure of the lingo).

Hi Samia,
Thanks for the link. I was not aware of the breadth of colouring in french bulldogs. I guess Lola's demonstrating red brindling (if 'brindling' is a word). I love the brindle look, but she's adorable as is so whatever fate/genetics may have in store, we'll be happy!

Yes, Samia etat
Frenchies "brindle up" for at least 2 to 3 years...There are some I have seen that appear to be almost black. By the time they are 6 months they are gently striped.By thier first b'day, they are striped...

Dari's mom was a tiger brindle; her sire was a fawn.. She is heavily brindle.her head is almost red..This "red" is just apparent in the last year (she is almost 6)..
