Please help...Capone did so well for a while and all of the sudden, one plant at a time they have been torn apart, ripped to shreds and semi-digested! I have attempted bitter apple but the moment the sprinkers come one the taste goes away..any suggestions?

Thank you for your help!

Are they inside or outside plants that Capone is eating? If they are outside plants bitter apple is not the right stuff to use. That's really only appropriate for indoor use. Try going to Home Depot or Lowe's (or whatever comperable store you may have) and get deer repellent spray. It is a hot pepper spray wax that tastes REALLY REALLY bad and will hold up to the elements (for a while at least!) It's made for outdoors but you'll have to reapply it every so often. I use it in the summer and it keeps the deer, woodchucks, etc. from eating all my plants. It really works well on them and it's safe so I don't see why it wouldn't work on a frenchie! :D

I just had another thought....is he feeling OK? You said he was alright for a while and now he's started again. Piper usually leaves the plants on my deck alone but every now and then she starts tearing them up and devouring them. Then I'll take her outside and she'll start tearing grass out of the lawn and gulping it down! That's sometimes how I know she has an upset stomach!

Teach him the "leave it" command and don't let him around the plants unsupervised. Fence the plants away if necessary.
