So Dobby is now 5 1/2 months. He's so sweet and so wonderful, he's everything that I can hope for in a puppy. Still I have to admit, sometimes I wish his puppy breath could be as sweet as his personality, but the truth is, his breath stinks supreme! :o

He's been teething for the past few weeks, so I think the blood from the teething is what causes the "smelly fish" breath. I know I can't give him an Altoid to chew on (or can I? ). Is there any natural remedy available to freshen his breath?

In the mean time, I'd try to be all smiles whenever he attempts to smother me with his puppy kisses so no feelings are hurt.

Ha, ha!! Tigger also went through a phase with super-stinky breath - aaagh! No, at 11mos, he's fine and has been for a while. I think you're right that it's about teething ... but maybe it's just the boys. My two girls never had that nasty breath!

I think you might be right. I don't recall stinky puppy breath from Cookie, my Boston, when she was teething as pup. Could that be the reason why some say "boys stink!" (not dog specific)? LOL... j/k
I hope the phase will soon pass though. :)
