After reading the thread about skateboarding frenchies, I was wondering....are there any special tricks your frenchies do? I'm not talking sit/stay/down, etc. I'm talking about cute and/or funny tricks.
Roxy is graduating from puppy classes in two weeks, and I need to teach her a special trick to do for graduation. I thought about sit pretty, stand and spin, but really wanted to do something fun like "downward dog" or "take a bow" (which consequently, would be the same action I suppose -- I just can't decide what to call it). But I want to pick something and stick with it so I don't confuse her.
Any suggestions?

I like "downward facing dog"! Luna's only special trick is farting loudly like a man.

LOL :D - you crack me up! I suppose that would be one of Phoebe's too. I don't know if I would suggest that for the party piece at the graduation though!

Cookie is no Frenchie (a Boston instead) but one of the tricks she does really well is play dead. When I say "play dead" she would instantly lay down on one side and appear to be motionless. But if I have a toy or treat in my hand, she would sometimes perk her head up a little to see when she's going to get it. Then I'd say "no cheating!" and she'd put her head down again. We started out using the "bang bang" command originally, but for whatever reason Cookie doesn't like the hand gun signal too much (guess it's probably the finger pointing part of it) so we had to change.
Another trick that I've seen my friend's dog so is "freeze." When you say "freeze" the dog would actually put up her front paws against the wall and look back at you as if she were getting arrested. I nearly laughed my tears out when I first saw it :)

Eti can do a downward dog. It took a while, one of the problems was the command- I said downward dog and he went into the down position-so now I say 'stretch'. His best trick is based on the fact that he loves to crawl on his belly, when he finds a surface he thinks he might like, like grass, patch of clover, carpet- he will crawl on it for a few feet. Does anyone else's frenchie do this? So the trick is, he goes into a down postion, I put the treat a few feet away from him and say "sneak up on it" and he crawls on his belly to get the treat.

These are all cute tricks but the question is .. how do you go about teaching them to do it ???? I tried to get Stella to roll over and learn how to speak but she looks at me like what in the world are you saying to me (ha ha ha) I would really lke to learn how to do the freeze trick .. if anyone knows how.

Lola's special trick is crawling like an army soldier across the floor. Your frenchie has to be able to do "down" first. Then I tell her "commando" and she crawls towards me. I used treats to lead her along and she actually did it almost all on her own right away!

Commando!! I love it!! Sidney hasn't fully grasped "down" yet. He will lie down on command on the carpet, but on the linoleum or hardwoods he looks at me like, "Are you crazy? That floor is cold!"
