I was reading some articles about laughter therapy today. If laughter is as healthy for us as all the current research claims, how lucky are we?!!! We have our own little laughter therapists living with us! Our little clowns make us laugh every day. We share our stories with others and make them laugh too.

I had a good laugh today when I told Allie she needed to have her ears cleaned. She saw the q-tips in my hand and bolted! I went into our bedroom and saw her mug, barely visible, sticking out under the bedskirt on our bed. She had that "make me" look on her face. While trying to retrieve her, I found the case to my reading glasses that had been missing! Little thief!

Baxter sat in the kitchen staring at his food bowl for at least a half hour after he finished eating this morning as if that would make more food appear in his bowl! Too funny!

Excerpt from article on Laughter Therapy...
"We still know very little about what happens in the brain when we laugh, but there's a fair amount of evidence to suggest that laughter has wide-ranging effects on us psychologically and physiologically. The most obvious effect is on our mood but laughter is also known to keep away negative emotions like anxiety and depression, which tend to weaken the immune system. It relieves stress, a common cause of heart and blood pressure problems. It improves lung capacity and oxygen levels in the blood and thus alleviates complaints of asthma and bronchitis. It also releases endorphins, the body's natural pain killers, thus reducing the frequency and intensity of arthritic pain and
muscular spasms. It is also known to help with insomnia, migraines, allergies, and ulcers."

I couldn't agree with you more! :) One of the best things we can do for our health is to have pets - and this is proven by many studies too! ;) But be careful with those q-tips! Those shouldn't be used for dogs.

I knew I'd hear from someone about that! I just use them on the upper part of the ear, never in the ear canal. Thanks :)

They are really a constant source of amusement and enjoyment and they also never fail to bring a smile to others' faces as well. I think it would be fair to say I am besotted by them!
