I recently switched Mojo from CS puppy to Natural Balance Duck and Potato. He was licking his rear legs and getting "hot spots" on the CS. After one week of being on the NB my observations are not favorable:

1. The gas problem has gotten worse
2. He is drinking water as if he needs to finish the entire bowl or risk never getting water again.
3. His stools are larger, less formed, and kind of slimey in appearance (I know, probably more info than you need!)
4. He has had accidents in his crate at night 2X's in the past week. He hasn't urinated in his crate since the first day we brought him home over 3 months ago.

Any advice would be appreciated. Also, I noticed that my Petco also carries Natural Balance raw, a new product. This is a frozen pre made raw formulation. It looks good to me; can anyone mre versed in raw take a look at this product and give me some feedback? Thanks!

Lilydog,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I had been feeding Chicken Soup puppy and because of the red spots on his legs, I decided to try a formula with fewer ingredients to cut down the odds of an allergic response. I have been feeding the NB duck and potato kibble only. Although I have the rolls for snacks, I have held off giving him anything but kibble to start to see what might be the source of his skin problems.

In all fairness, I have only been feeding the NB for a week; I realize that this is not enough time to realize results. I also very well could be feeding him a bit too much. He does seem to have gained a little weight on the NB. I think the Natural Balance might have a higher kcal/cup than the Chicken Soup, although I can't be sure because the Natural Balance bag doesn't list kcals.

I'm going to cut back the amount I feed him a bit and see if he adjusts to the food. I also only transitioned him over a 3 day period. We were running low on the Chicken Soup and our feed store was out of it, so he didn't benefit from a 7-10 day slower transition onto the new food. In the past I have never had any problems with transitioning over a few days when switching from one "quality" food to another, however, this is my first frenchie, first skin problems, first gas/digestive problems, etc.
