I have just visited a site where there are 3 Frenchies to adopt - 2 puppies and a very nice looking 2 year old male. It is a German website www.bullterrier-in-not.de and naturally it is in German, but if you need help you can pm me. Once you are on their site, go to the top right and click on 'unsere Hunde' (our dogs), then click on 'wir suchen ein Zuhause' (we are looking for a home). You will have to keep on turning the page and unfortunately they are not numbered, so you will just have to check each one out till you get to the Frenchies.
I would love to take one, but have made a decision to only have one baby. Highly tempting, but no can do!

Roosje,
If you are talking about Yoda; that is very much what the Hungarian imports look like.. They are Frenchies, but not with the look of the American or Dutch dogs..

Your breeder went to a REPUTABLE breeder in Hungary whose dogs , I am more than willing to bet, have American dogs in thier pedigree..That is why they look very much the same as most of the dogs you see here.
Most of the imports in this country come from brokers and puppymills; they do not share the same pedigree or careful breeding that your breeder looked for..

Brooke,
Ask your breeder to see the pedigree on her Hungarian dog.. I should have added that there are probably not only American dogs, but Dutch and Dogs from Belgium; since the "type " of dog is very similar...That is why this dog looks like our American dog..

The pup looks very like a mix with a stafford http://www.bullterrier-in-not.de/hunde/showdoggies_more.php4?start=61#yoda I don't know how it is in Germany but in the Netherlands there is a big chance that dogs who are a Stafford, Pitbull etc mix without papers, get confiscated and put down :( So terribly sad.

In Switzerland we have no BSL, but as you can see from that website, as well as many others which I regularly visit, Staffies, Pits and many more are having a very rough time - I agree :( it is indeed very sad.

When I saw the nostrils, the paws and the shape of the skull, my thought was was a mix.
Same thought here, especially the pointy mouth.

If you ever get to NY , I will take you to one particular pet store, (how I wish I could shut it down); this is exactly what every frenchie looks like..And they are mostly from Hungary....

Agreed, both Yoda, and her sister Helene (no photo) are for sure not 100% Frenchies, but I sure hope they get a loving home. I think that Bobby looks pretty much like a proper Frenchie though.. When I first started searching shelters there were never any Frenchies, now they are popping up all over the show, which is really sad.
Here is another rescue group solely for Frenchies, and most of them look like the Frenchies we are used to. www.rescueboule.com - all in French and I don't understand too much, but something I would consider if I ever wanted another Frenchie.

Here in the Netherlands you see also more and more Frenchies appearing in rescue. Luckily till now they find quickly new homes. We have this wonderful site where many shelters place their avaible dogs in a database. This way it is easy for people to find a dog which they are looking for http://www.dierenasiels.com/
