Hi all,
Oscar is a licking machine. He constantly licks us and everything else (but mostly us). Do any of you have any similar experiences with your FB. I know that this can be a sign of affection; however, I'm not sure about this. Oscar has a real attitude about authority and I think that it may be a dominance issue (i.e. him trying to exert his authority, dominance of us). I usually try not to let him do this, as it's annoying and I don't want to encourage him.

Let me know if you have had similar experiences.

Thanks

Hi ,
It's funny you should bring this up.
Mia licks anything she can get a hold of. Mostly the walls. When you tell her to stop........ it's on to the next wall. She can sit there for a good 20 minutes going from wall to wall.
We have often wondered why she does this . Now we just include it as one of the MANY other traits that make up her SILLY personality.:D

Sidney also likes to lick things. He often finds a spot on the carpet that looks interesting and can just lie there licking the same spot for a really long time. He likes to lick arms, legs, furniture, etc. I think it's cute and much prefer it to when he pees on everything (which he also does with regularity). ;)

Hi! Just wanted to add this, might not be the case for your dog, but...

My friends dog was licking alot, too. Turns out it was because of an allergy, evidently, licking = itchy tongue. Might be worth looking into. Or, your dog just likes tasting everything!

That cracked me up about the frenchie that licks the walls, did you use meat flavored paint?

Tell me more about those allergies. I have noticed she has been licking her paws and they look a little pink. No fur missing.... just pink like when she gets hot.
When do you know if too much licking is a concern ?
