Last night we switched to Bravo turkey blend raw, and she destoyed her food in a matter of seconds, this morning she woke up around 5 and was crying, so I let her out and she went pee, all was well, but she was all pumped up, rolling on her back and not wanting to go back to sleep, so I feed her the turkey blend for the 2nd time.
Here is when it gets bad, she started crying in a matter of minutes, licking her paws, rolling on her back, scratching. I feel bad, cause I think when she woke up the first time, she was rolling on her back to scratch herself, and I thought she was just playing. Anyway gave ger some benadrly and she seems fine. Do you think this was an allergic reaction, or I read it could be some that she is realising some toxins? Also how long do allergic reactions to food take to show symptons like I described?, cause I hope she does not react to her 2nd feeding that was 5 hrs ago. Thanks for you help, it was not fun watching her in so much pain, I literally had to rub her ears gently for her to stop crying.

your puppy might not be taking likely to the raw food, from what i read not all dogs work well with the cold turkey switch from dry to raw food, hes having tummy aches because of the switch maybe try feeding him a little bit of raw for now and between and 8 hour interval feed him his old dry food, you should try straight raw a bit in the morning then in the evening feeding his old food, dont mix the raw with dry cause the tummy aches will just get worse. i hope the little guy feels better

Have you tried chicken... turkey has triptophane (sp) and some other things that chicken does not have, which is what she might be reacting too.

Also just feeding the pure meat and no veg or additives at first might help. Could be a weird allergy to veg or kelp or something.

Thanks, am going to start her off slower, instead of cold turkey. As far as the allergies goes, it could have been her new bed we just got her, it is tough to say. It looked like she was limp in her rear legs, but the vet said that she just try to rub her belly on the carpet, which makes sense, but look insane. So we shall see. Can anyone recommend another raw company, cause it is impossible to find Bravo without veggies? Thanks again

Yikes. I'd guess it would be an allergic reaction to something. Maybe one of the veggies or even the turkey. We used Nature's Variety raw, they make both venison and lamb. Maybe an unusual meat source would be good for your dog?

I was just actually checking there products out right before you replied. Bravo is great, but selection is weak, i called every retail in ny and almost none of them had plain meats. How do you like Nature's Variety, and are you using a blend with veggies, if so how many times a week? thanks for all the replies..

Actually we're not doing raw anymore. But I did like Nature's Variety. We rotated the foods, my dog (non-Frenchie) was especially partial to the venison. It does have veggies in all of their blends (that I know of).

fran I got all my bravo from Whiskers, and they had none, and were not sure when plain turkey would come in. Also I was really convinced that this was not food allergies, so i feed her a little this morning, and she was fine, only thing is she won't stop licking her bowl..

Buy the Venison ;Rabbit; Duck , or Ostrich. They do not have veggies. And I agree with you , I do not think it is the food. I bet it is the bed or something in the house..
