Kicking back-worms??

I noticed Aldo is doing something a little bizare and I am not sure really why he does it and if I should be worried. After he goes to the bathroom, he moves his back legs and kicks backwards. He only does it a few times and he doesn't drag his butt on the ground indicating worms. We just wormed him about a week ago (he was regularly wormed at the breeder). He started doing this motion even when he didnt go to the bathroom, this morning...am I to be worried or is it puppy behavior?

As far as I know, this is a dominance behavior.. He is spreading his scent; telling everybody,"Hey I am here"!

:lol: Nothing to worry about! Aldo just thinks that he's a big man! = it is usually considered to be an act of showing off, but there are some other interpretations as well, e.g. spreading the "toilet scents"/ OR hiding them; getting the smell on their feet to spread it around etc.

Both of my dogs do this. First time I saw Elsi doing this kicking, I laughed so hard... :lol: It just looked hysterical!

Lamont does this ALL the time - after every pee and ever "Doukie" which is quite the pain when your trying to scoop up - getting kicked in the face with leaves, grass etc. :lol:

I try so hard not to laugh when my little 10 week old Piper "struts his stuff" after a poopie.

He thinks he's the big guy around town... and I don't want to bruise his ego by laughing. :lol:

My Baxter kicks a couple times after a poop. He looks as though it's a big effort and he's doing it just because he's supposed to. My big boss lady, Allie, makes a big production of the post poop kicking. The funniest part of the whole ritual is the amount of time it takes them to find the perfect spot to do their business!

Bleu does this only at the Dog Park like the Big doggies do.
