View Full Version : Who is their favorite?

We have had so many dogs through the years and it was sometimes very obvious who their "favorite" owner was. Maurice (St Poodle) was Jims and Ripley (St Poodle) was mine. Beanie (Boston) was definitely mine and Piglet (Boston) was definitely Jims. Jill (Boston) was mine and Lani (Boston) was both our ours.
With the Frenchies...it is very different. Abby is totally mine but she and Jim have certain play time, car rides, etc that are special to them and I cannot compete! Ferris is unique. He is the only dog that I have owned that seems to have no favorites. He shares his time equally between us, demands kisses from both of us and will sleep in his lap or mine...whichever seems more comfortable at the time. I really like this about Ferris.
I will add, though, that ALL of our dogs have come to me when they were not feeling well. I don't think this is any insult to Jim but they know that I am more in tune to them when they are in trouble.

....I think my wife would want a second one now just so he wouldn't follow her everywhere.
Tell your wife that the ONLY thing that would change with another dog is that she would have TWO dogs following her everywhere!
Trust me (the favored one).

Adora is a mommy's girl. She follows me everywhere and sits on my lap constantly. I'm rarely without a softly snoring brindle lap lump.
Although, she is smart enough to bat her eyelashes at my husband and get tons of kisses and lovin'. Especially since she is fond of kissing people with a bullystick in her mouth. I'm not down with that!

Sssssh! If I tell her that we'll never get another one. I figure that once this one is housebroken we'll never go down that path again. If we get another young one soon, then at least they'll be in trouble at the same time.

porkchop luvs both of us, except when he has his bone and forgets everybody, he even ignores my sisters dog, and he rough play her a lot and she aint taking it from him shes 20lbs of mad fury when she doesnt want to be bothered, so porkchop just goes back up to my room and cuddles with whomever is on the bed.

Luna's favourite parent is me because I feed her while I'm cooking or basically whenever Morgan isn't looking, completing sabotaging his Anti-Beg Campaign. Shhhhh!

So basically, does every frenchie follow there owners around? I just thought Aldo did it because he is a baby...its so cute....they are the best dogs aren't they? I just never saw such a lovable dog before!!!! I am smitten!!! So far I think he prefers me because I am here more, however he listens more to my husband. :)

Iida is a mommy's girl, although she adores my b.f. As a puppy (and when we still lived in Finland) she was crazy about my little brother, and anyone who looked even a little bit like him...
Elsi is also "mine" as I'm the one that usually feeds her, and I spend much more time with her. Then again she went absolutely mad when my b.f. came home from the army the other weekend! Jumpjumpjumpjump... kisseskisseskisses... In fact, both of the girls shower him with kisses, constantly!

Stella loves everyone and really doesn't have a favorite quite yet but she does have her favorite throughout the day. In the mornings my mom b/c she takes Stella out and feeds her but then there is me she loves to come in my room every morning @ 6:30 and and lay in my room while I am getting ready for work and then I play with her for about 10 min before I have to leave and then I come home from lunch @12 everyday let her out and play with her. Right when i get home from work @ 5:00 she imediately wants my attention and wants to play otherwise she will sit there at my feet and cry .. but everywhere I go you will be sure to find Stella at my feet .. she is a cuddle bug and loves to be by my side. Now my dad that is her playmate at night... he will play rough with her and she can do whatever she wants and go crazy LOL! So everyone is basically her favorite in different ways! :D

Way to go, Mo! You broke down Fred! She should be president of the world - that would solve a lot of problems.

For us, I think it’s too early to tell … we’re all still getting to know one another ….
So far I would say Lamont is a bit of a mamma’s boy. Like Caroline mentioned, Lamont knows to seek me out for comfort and codling. Our Herbie was exactly the same way. We shared many tender moments gazing at each other kissing and cuddling and rubbing.
Chris is definitely the alpha in the house – Lamont is always trying to please him and seek his praise … they’re in the studio together all day and Chris is the key person dishing out the training right now (but I know they have their tender times as well.)
My boys!!! :D

I have just looked Jean Chretien up in Google. Here you can see Fred on the left side in the picture, do you still think that he looks like Jean Chretien? :D http://80.126.213.52/~roos/photo_album/display/DSCN5372.jpg
