submissive peeing

just when i am thinking "i love oscar," he pees on the hot guys shoes!

ok, not sure why dogs do this? i can't even predict when. usually with males. sometimes with women. but, it sucks!!!!! i don't want to scold him when he pees when someone greets him but, is there any way to stop this? EVERY time someone comes into my apt., i either have to keep oscar locked up, or he will jump jump jump away, and pee on somebody's shoes, the floor, anything. it is so embarassing. i have started to tell people that greet him on the street. not to lean over him. i pull him back if he jumps and he has to sit to get attention. but, once the person gives him attention, the pee starts flowing. and if it goes on their shoes, pants, or god help me, often their toes (since it is summer), i feel like crap!!!! i feel so bad. because i can honestly tell you that if i thought a dog was cute, and i went to pet it, and it peed on me, i would be frustrated.

what can i do?!!!!!

p.s. oscar peed on my landlords toes the other day!!!!!

Sharon, He's being Submissive,I would'nt get onto him for it or make a big deal of it when it happens or he'll think he's not doing it good enough and it will get worse. They eventually outgrow it as long as you dont punish him for it. Alot of puppies do this, not just FB's. Others members may have more info on this. Dont ya just love puppies ! :lol:

Again, Oscar and Morrie have to be twins! Morrie does the submissive peeing too. It is embarrassing, especially indoors (and inconvenient since I have to clean it up). But Morrie also pees when he's excited. We had a little boy visiting and Morrie got so excited that he did a big zigzag of pee the whole length of the kitchen.
