do you rotate products? if you do, do you always stick with one kind of raw, onekind of kibble, etc,? i was checking out some of the posts regarding feeding and saw a few that feed raw nature's variety. they recommend rotating kibble, canned, and raw. does anyone have any information for or against this? i might go to NV instead of solid gold because they offer the raw, which might help the loose stools and put a little weight on Frankie.

Please read the book "the Ultimate Diet" by Schultze.I feed raw and use Bravo (www.bravorawdiet.com).

Rotating protien sources is an integral part of raw feeding. The book I referenced is one of the easiest reads on raw feeding around . Before you switch , it is really advisable to learn what raw feeding is all about.

Besides the benefit of firm stool and no gas, my dog loves her food. Her vet is delighted with her overall health. There have been no problems with eating raw in over 18 months.IMO, this is the best way to feed our dogs.

I've been feeding NV raw to my 4 1/2 month old frenchie with great success also... i dont feed kibble anymore of any kind. i rotate his meat source every week, so one week, he'll eat Chicken & Turkey, next week he'll eat Lamb, then the next he'll eat Venison...but his meals are always NV raw, i like NV because the ingredients are more then just raw meat and bone...

(INGREDIENTS
Chicken, Turkey, Turkey Liver, Turkey Heart, Ground Chicken Bone, Ground Turkey Bone, Apples, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Broccoli, Lettuce, Spinach, Ground Flax Seeds, Chicken Eggs, Montmorillonite, Dried Kelp, Salmon Oil, Cold Pressed Olive Oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, Parsley, Honey, Persimmons, Blueberries, Duck Eggs, Pheasant Eggs, Quail Eggs, Garlic, Alfalfa Sprouts, Barley Sprouts, Millet Sprouts, Quinoa Sprouts, Wheat Sprouts, Inulin, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Rosemary, Sage, Clove.)

my little guy eats three meals a day 6am, noon and 6:30pm, with a few snacks during the day including Sam's sweet potato chews, Franky goes nuts over these things, plus there really healthy for him. He also gets some fresh Mozzarella cheese for our training sessions.

so far so good, im really happy with the result of raw and the nice thing, my dog has almost no gas. this past weekend my breeder came out with another frenchie and this dog was feed dry kibble and his farts were something horrible, like something died in his stomach...

I've been feeding Sugar, at 15 weeks and 7 lbs, a Nature's Variety, both raw and kibble. I've been mixing the two, but since many others have warned against that, I'm going to switch to raw in the morning and afternoon, and kibble in the evening.

I have a question, though. How many medalions do you feed? The website's information doesn't match that on the bag of raw food itself. I'm not sure what a good daily amount is.

Thanks,
Frank

I switched Petula to NV raw a couple weeks ago and she is doing well on it. Embarassingly enough, I chose this brand because of the convenience of ready-made medallions (and the guy at the store said it was great stuff). We started off with the lamb but are now mixing in the chicken and turkey and will switch to that for a few weeks. Her stool is very firm, so I give her 1/8 teaspoon of metamucil with each feeding. Sometimes I mix in some apple and banana. She also gets 3/4 teaspoon of Rainbow brand dog oil supplement in the morning. We give her 4 medallions two times a day, but she is big - 21 lbs at seven months.
