how bad is it for our pup's ? Franky's been eating grass lately... dont know if that's one of the reasons he's been vomiting...

hmmm, could be. how much does he eat? it affects certain dogs differently i think, as oscar can eat loads of grass and it doesn't seem to do anything to him. others vomit. more likely though, franky's vomiting is because of the raw transition. i think you need to see if he takes to the raw, and stops vomiting from that, before you try to figure out if he is vomiting from the grass. if you are looking at both at the same time, it is hard to figure out which is causing it :) does he vomit up grass? or raw food? if you can, just try to catch him eating the grass and discourage it. easier said that done i know. oscar still hoovers up freshly cut grass. but, it doesn't seem to do anything. is franky throwing up right after he eats the grass? or right after he eats the raw food?

also, i noticed that after oscar was on raw consistantly for awhile, he stopped eating as much stuff off the ground (grass, leaves, rocks, dirt...). i think maybe because he was getting a more balanced diet and not trying to eat random stuff to fill out his diet. or maybe he just got older and wiser :D

i think part of the reason he's throwing up is he's very active after he eats, he gets all this energy of all a suden, it's so funny to watch him run around the house like a crazy man...

i guess i need to make sure he stops running around after he eats...

and he vomits about an hour after he eats...

They eat grass for different reasons, some bc they have a sick belly and others who just like to graze on it. If he's active I would crate him or make sure he rests for at least 30 min. after he eats. I know what you mean about the energy after they eat. Ollie who is 9 months now likes to run all around after he eats but I make him rest for about a half hour.

Is Franky on a raw diet or am I thinking of someone else?

yep, he's on raw....and loving it ! feeding 10 oz. daily.
